Wait Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. Psalm 37:7-9 I'm not very good at waiting. I get angst-ridden over the time that passes without finality. Waiting patiently is not in my genes. Have you ever had an evangelist prophesy that you will be restored financially ten times over? I have many times. I had this very discussion the other day about similar circumstances with a friend of mine. We came to the conclusion that if we die before these prophecies come into fruition, then someone needs to seek out these false profits to challenge their credentials. Anyway, I am waiting. Are prophecies on a contingent basis? Are they contingent upon our actions? Does God expect conditions to be met in order to cut on the faucet? And are the prophecies void if we do not meet these conditions? Is this a unilateral or bilateral agreement? I know that I have not lived up to what God expects of me. Is it because of my lack of seriousness in my walk with the Lord that has prevented God from carrying out the fulfillment of the prophecies? God had a covenant with Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. However, like me he could not wait for God to do his thing. Instead, he and Sarah got impatient and made the decision that the Lord restrained Sarah from bearing, therefore Abraham should go unto Hagar that he may obtain a child; a decision that still haunts us today. So, what does God want from me. Nothing? I feel he tells us in these scriptures. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:24-28. It appears that what is in store for me through hope is not seen; therefore I do not know specifically what God is going to do for me. I believe he will honor his commitment through the Spirit. I need to pray that the Spirit will make intercession for me, keep my heart right, love God, seeking His will for me at all times through the Spirit, and I will be called according to his purpose. Although, we have salvation through His grace, enrichment from God in this world is not without work and not without our commitment to His purpose. So, all I am to be in this world is up to me. Therefore, I will take action in my search for God's purpose and then, WAIT. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 Brad Warren
