Then & There
My name is Greg Robbins and I have a testimony that I have wanted to give for some time now. The Choir is practicing a new song called "Then and There" and I feel time has come.
The Lord has been a major part of my life since I was a child. He has been there every time I needed Him and I needed Him on January 20, 1998 more than I ever had before. My mom lived with me in my grandmother's house. We had lived there since 1992 when my grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. I helped take care of her until she passed away in 1993. I spent from then until 1998 re-modeling my house for me and my mom. Yes, I was a true mamas boy.
In January of 1998, she took ill with asthma and bronchitis. This was not new to me or her. She had this problem for years. For three weeks, I did most of everything; cooking, cleaning, all of it. Around the end of January, mother was getting much better. On January 20, I was to take her back to the doctor. She was going to work that afternoon. I awoke at 7:15 A.M. When I went into the living room, I found mother on the couch in the usual position that she watched television. She had died sometime during the night. Needless to say, I lost it. The last person I did CPR on was my mother.
The last four years have been difficult. I stopped going to church, but not on purpose. It was a gradual thing. But thank God he led me here!
I am doing very well considering the last four years. What sparked me wanting was the song the choir is learning. One line says "it seems I'd lost the reason to get up every morning. I had lost all hope and lost my song..." Being a member of the New Covenant Choir is a dream come true for me. I have wanted something like this for a long time.
In the past few months, God has done a miracle. I am so glad to report that the Lord has restored my song!!! I miss my mother dearly and God will heal that, but I MUST thank God publicly for restoring what my mother's death took from me. All glory, praise, and honor be to Him!!!
