My, How Good God Is!

Answer me this. What has come and gone but really just begun?

The one-year anniversary celebration - September 24, 2001 - marking a divine manifestation of the presence and power of God in Classroom #4 of the Adamsville Church of God (then not yet named "The Upper Room Class") has come and gone.

There are so many things one could say about the morning of September 24, 2000, and the events of the year following. God has touched us, moved us, changed us. For me, there was an awakening! Complacency in our relationship with God is out! He has used many things to draw us closer and closer to Him. He wants us to seek His face and crave an intimacy with Him as never before.

Have those of us who were there a year ago that Sunday morning and/or been privileged to be a part of the powerful move of God since that day lived the past year free of trouble? No way! Death, tragedy and life's woes have touched us. Things we could not and still don't fully understand have happened. Yet, the faithfulness of God has remained steadfast and sure. It is through His unfailing love that we can stand and will continue to stand! It is because of His presence that we have known that everything is going to be all right.

What happened one year ago could not be explained then and it still cannot be explained today except to say it was a God thing! The memorial celebration really was no different. Thought to be around at least 125 in attendance of all ages, people came expecting the unexpected. And when it comes to expecting something from God, He always comes through!

Time and space and words do not allow me to adequately put in print all God has done and how I feel about Him. I know that He is not through with what He wants to do for us and through us so you see it really is just the beginning of greater things through Him. (What's a year when it comes to God?) I am privileged to be a part of what God is doing in these last days through the Adamsville Church of God. Obedience to Him is my desire.

I dedicate this story to our fellow class member Dorothy Sidnette Dunaway, a precious Jewel of God, who has gone to be with Him during this past year and now awaits the rest of us to join her.

TO GOD BE ALL THE GLORY!
