Is There A Spot? When I was two years old, I had the German measles that settled in my left eye causing me to be blind in that eye. At age eleven, during a routine visit to the eye doctor, the doctor discovered a dark spot in my good eye. He was concerned that I might go blind in my right eye, also. He scheduled me an appointment with a Dr. Smith, a specialist from Gadsden, for further testing. I grew up going to The Guntersville Church of God where at this time E. L. Bice was pastor. At the time of this incident, I was not saved. However, my parents asked the Church to pray for my situation. I can remember being scared to death thinking that I might be blind for the rest of my life. When we went to Dr. Smith, he put some drops in my eye and told me that I would have to wait a while before he could examine my eye. The wait was terrifying; but when Dr. Smith finally looked in my eye he said, "There is no spot in her eye." I was so relieved and my parents were praising God for my healing. God is good. Shortly after that, at age twelve; my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ saved me. As I got older, I realized what a miracle God did for me. God has done many things for me over the years. He gave me a husband that I know without a doubt was ordained by God; a beautiful, smart, and talented daughter; an absolutely wonderful Church and Pastor; a great Sunday school class and teacher; a wonderful Choir and director; parents that cared enough to raise me right; and a job that is my dream. I thank Him everyday, but can never thank Him enough for all this and more. Thank you Jesus. Sharen Buchanan
