Hello there Pastor Stewart. This is Jimmy Henderson and I am writing to you from Iraq. I just wanted to thank you and everyone else at the Church for all your prayers and all the letters. I just wanted to let you know that the prayers are working because I can't count the number of times that God has been watching over me. 

There have been a lot of close calls but I'm telling you if it wasn't for God and the prayers I don't think I would be here today. I'm not saying this to scare anyone or get people to worry about me, but here is a little story about last night. 

I am a mortar man in the marine corps infantry and I fire 81mm mortars out of a LAV. It's a vehicle with 8 tires and the top opens up and we fire out of it. Well last night we were just 2000 meters outside of Falluja in support of a sniper team. So we set up 100 meters in-front of front of the sniper team. Then this call comes over the radio that they want us to move 100 meters behind them because they were having problems with the radio so everyone is mad because we had to pack up and move, but we move. So when we move 100 meters behind them we set up again and we start shooting some illumination rounds and light up the sky so the snipers can see. At 1:30 am some insurgents inside the city find out that we are there and they start dropping 82mm mortars on us. They are not very good but they fired 6 rounds in the exact same spot that we had set up the first time. We all look at each other and just think man we were just there; that could have been us. No one new the answer about how we stayed safe but I new that it was God looking out for us. I know with out a doubt that someone was out there praying for me and my marines. 

They fired some more rounds and got close but everyone is ok  I give God all the glory and praise for keeping all of us safe. That is just one story. I can't count how many times He has looked out for me.  It is awesome. I just wanted to let you know that I go to the best Church in the whole world and I thank everyone there for all the support. I have to go for now and I can't wait to get home and see everyone. Tell Sister Vicky and the church I said hello and I am keeping everyone of you in my prayers.
