Motherhood (by Howard W. Kramer) "Bob, come here right now. Hurry! The baby just kicked. Put your hand right here and feel it. Isn't it exciting? Just think, our little baby is alive right here." Especially for first-time mothers and fathers, a baby's first significant movement is truly an exciting event. A mother bonds with her child even before the baby is born. The God who created earth and heaven with all its wonders, in His all-encompasing wisdom and power, gave us the miracle of reproduction and birth. On this Mother's Day we thank God for mothers who have acknowledged His power in their lives. We thank God for mothers who wanted us and who sacrificed to provide us with food and clothing and much love. We thank God for mothers who made certain that their children were provided with the "one thing needful," that is, the Gospel truth that the Savior loved us and made us His own by His sacrifice on Calvary's cross. The miracle of birth was only the beginning of many blessings God has showered on us through our mothers. Prayer: "Heavenly Father, thank You for a mother who nurtured me before and after my birth. Bless all mothers who show Your love to their children. In Jesus' name. Amen."
